When I was going through King Gizzard's discography in chronologucal order, this was one of my absolute favorites, and it still is now. It's really got that Motown vibe to it, which is music my mom played for me all the time when I was younger. I actually enjoy the voval idstortion on the studio version, though I do think that in recent live versions less of it is better. Also, it's not the second ever song he wrote, it's his second song for King Gizz specifically, he's written songs before this with The Murlocs and probably some other bands. Sucks you couldn't upload the first reaction! Next up is Mystery Jack, one of the more depressing King Gizz songs lyrically. I'd say it isnt really a standout, but it's a good song.

They announced their new album today! "Flight b741," first single comes out next Tuesday, and the album drops August 9th! The cover is extremely a Pink Floyd reference, and if the songs they've played live are anything to go by, it's gonna be a great one 💖

This one has a great vibe and a really good melody. The mic is clipping like hell in the mix though. I'll check out the Red Rocks version

OH HELL YES I LOVE THIS SONG

To me it seems the dudes started with a nostalgic distorted washed out sound that 100% fit the Aussie surfer skater punk scene at the time. The sounds for me are reminiscent of hanging out at the ramp/park with a shitty boom box blasting some tunes while we try to catch some air / grind. Would still be the perfect jams for such a time.
